hello, my sweet friends. allow me first to apologize for disappearing for so long - i never intended on taking such an extended hiatus but sometimes life gets the best of us, oui? things got hectic once again in our world and - although it's far too much to explain in one post - i will say that we spent time in new york for the dreamboat's stint at cmj and it was so much fun!
now, onto another adventure - a couple of weeks ago we took a day trip down to salem to wander around and get in the halloween spirit.
we popped into boutiques, ogled the gorgeous old architecture, toured count orlok's nightmare gallery (as a horror movie buff i have to say this place is one of my abslute favorites!) and walked down to the waterfront holding hands.
we ate $4 mediocre cinnamon buns. we posed for total tourist photos (see above) - the dream was obviously way better at putting on a happy face for it than i was. we had the most perfect weather.
i so love day tripping and adventuring with my sweetheart. and i'm so glad to be back!
good afternoon my darlings! i am so happy that more and more of you have been writing for style advice... and so so so flattered! today's post is for my friend kelsey who is going to croatia for 12 days at the end of the month! so exciting... needless to say i'm totally jealous! here's what she wrote:
"i've been looking online without any luck for a cool retro bikini (high waisted) that would be flattering on me... i also need inexpensive dress / top options that i can get more than one wear out of. we'll be on a sailboat but stopping in various places to go out. so i need to be boat casual but ready to dress up a bit for dinner and drinks..."
kelsey also told me she has a budget of (around) $250... well my dear, this is what i came up with! i hope it helps...
1 whirligig dress by velvet, $69.95 via anthropologie
2 braided chain duster earrings, $4.99 via urban outfitters
3 lace-trimmed chiffon blouse, $19.99 via urban outfitters
4 ruched bikini top & bottom, $48 & $46 respectively via j.crew
5 geo stone ring, $16.99 via urban outfitters
6 ecote gladiator wedge sandal, $14.99 via urban outfitters
7 featherknit asymmetrical tee, $34.99 via j.crew
8 cone post earring, $14 via urban outfitters
9 mixed stones stackable rings, $9.99 via urban outfitters
some important things to note - 1 while the bathing suit is from j.crew and might not be locally available, i find that their suits run a bit small but mostly true to size and their shipping is super quick to new england because they have a shipping warehouse in western mass! 2 i love the velvet dress because their stuff packs & travels so well. the fabrics they use are super lightweight and easy and this design is perfect to dress up or down. 3 overall, i'd say bring things that pack easily and pack tons of accessories - it is the easiest way to dress up any outfit from day to night.
hello, little sweeties! happy monday... i hope you all had wonderful weekends! ours was so lovely! friday afternoon i received these yummy goodies in the mail (they're the steve madden annnie-l and they're going to be my go-to fall footwear... i love them so much i'm going to order them in either taupe or black, too):
we spent friday night in watching twin peaks and drinking malbec (yum!) and saturday we headed down to boston for our friends' paul & amanda's wedding. we started the afternoon with ginger beer and vodka lemonade that my dear friend courtney made... so yummy!
yummiest summer cocktail!
vintage barware i gifted to court last christmas
courtney's feline, toni danza, clearly very stressed about the wedding.
taking care of business.
good tuesday to you, little lambs! sunday night my dreamboat surprised me with a date to go see ms. richfield's "30 years on the throne!" performance at the music hall loft - so exciting! the dream knows that i love drag queens pretty much more than most everything else in the universe (with a few exceptions, of course) and i thought it was so sweet of him to snag tickets for us to go see this show.
the performance was fabulous and hilarious and so small & intimate! after the show ms. richfield invited us all next door to the portsmouth baking company to take photos with her and eat cupcakes... both of which we did (i bought red velvet AND strawberry)! can you tell by the huge smiles on our faces how much fun we had?
it was a lovely night and we topped it off with an impromptu dance party at the press room (the soundtrack was the best of the '50s & '80s mostly). so fun!
lona and suddhayu brought the most beautiful wildflower bouquets from their farm to decorate the picnic tables at dani's barbecue party yesterday! at the end of the evening when everyone was packing up to head home, oceana, dani & i each grabbed a mason jar filled with flowers to bring home with us. here's mine...
so beautiful!
happy holiday! did you all have a long weekend? the dream and i are right in the middle of our long weekend at the moment since the shop was closed yesterday for july 4th. we spent yesterday morning having breakfast with my parents and then headed over to four tree island to celebrate our friend dani's first day as an american citizen! she threw a red, white and blue party and there was music, lots of grilled food, wiffle ball and patriotic attire. it was so much fun!
chatting like good americans
fashionable patriotic attire
wiffle ball strategy
oceana was not impressed with my pre-greeting photo-taking
wiffle ball!
seth is extremely american, as you can see
lounging!
okay, now that you saw what we ate, maybe you'd like to see what we wore! i can always count on bee and nicole to look adorable and stylish, so i brought my camera along for documentation...

hello my sweet peaches! it's very fitting that today's earlier blog post was a what we wore featuring bee, nicole and myself because yesterday we had a lunch date! we went to mojo's bbq shack and i was very excited because this was my first trip to mojo's and (as you've probably guessed by now) i looooooooooove me some bbq!
we sat around and had delicious drinks with grenadine (i've been on a serious shirley temple kick lately!) and lots of delightful girl talk. it was loads of fun!
mmmmmmmmmmmmm bbq!
