happy friday, my lovely readers! today is very exciting because it is the celebration of the birthday of one of my dear friends, isis! those of you who know isis know that the celebration of her birthday actually lasts for the entire month of october, but tonight is sort of the official gathering of we (her friends) to feast and dance in her honor.

that being said, tonight we are heading north to portland to eat delicious dinner at local 188 (where we ate for her bachelorette party!) and go dancing at bubba's for 80's night (we also did this for her b.p.)! i am so excited for so many reasons - not the least of which being the amazing light-up dance floor. yes.

i think that this is the most perfect outfit to wear from dinner to dancing when dinner includes a kind-of fancy and really fun atmosphere and dancing is 80's themed! and we all know at this point that i am such a sucker for this rich shade of cobalt blue...

i love the idea of scrunching socks up over the bottoms of your skinnies and wearing these long scrunched gloves with an elbow-sleeve sweater. it creates such elegant proportions and is a unique way to layer without looking like you just piled on all of the sweaters your momma ever owned.

hello, my sweets! i am in a great mood - why, you ask? because tonight, while out celebrating my dear friend michael winters' art opening for his photo show, i received an email from lovely elise of blowfish shoes congratulating me for winning the shoe-a-day giveaway! i am seriously over the moon about this - i really never win anything (okay, that's not *entirely* true - i won a pair of tickets to see blink 182 forever ago and marissa and i went and had a blast) and am very, very excited about this.

i've been eyeing the vance ever since it first became available and it is soon to be mine! here's the little video that they made & sent to all of week 14's winners - keep an eye out exactly at the 1:00 mark for my name. so cute!

*two things are interesting to me about this. the first is that when i was in london for my 20th birthday one of the only things i actually ended up buying was a pair of shoes by shelly's london - they were teal, green, yellow and orange pointed flats and they were amazing. the second interesting thing is that just earlier today i was looking up pricing for the dream and i to take a trip to london (i want to go back so badly and he's never been). it's odd how things work out!

happy wednesday my little lovers! yesterday i wore my hair down for the first time in over a year - no joke. and this includes while i sleep! it's going to take a bit of time to get used to it but it was an immediate hit with the dream - he was playing with it all day!

yesterday we decided to head to my parents' house for dinner and drinks. it was rainy and chilly and made me want fall so much! i'm waiting on a wireless remote & tripod for my dslr so i can start posting more outfit photos... but yesterday my dreamy boyfriend was kind enough to take some shots. enjoy!

happy monday, my sweets! and it sure is happy indeed - while most of you are capping off your extended weekends, mine is just beginning! the dream and i have the next three days off together! we are going to spend time snuggling, walking around lovely portsmouth and doing lots of thrifting... so fun!

today's dreamy outfit is perfect for early fall. i've never been a fan of using primary colors together in styling but there's something about this mix that makes me swoon! i love the shredded nature of the sweater and i am a total sucker for short sleeves with elbow-length gloves. enjoy!
