hello again my loves! i have decided i need to start including my wedding plans in this little corner of the internet both for my own sake (my memory is crap and, despite a few stressful hiccups, i am actually thoroughly enjoying this whole planning process!) and to allow you a little peek into the little details which will make our day the wedding of our dreams.
my initial plans to wear the fabulous gold vera wang mules i found at an astonishingly decent price (thank you kindly, nordstrom rack!) were thwarted when i fell in love with a dress (the most beautiful dress i have ever seen, ever) that has silver details (no real spoilers herein, i promise). i have a GORGEOUS pair of badgley mischka stiletto booties (thank you kindly, zappos!) that i will be wearing for the after-party and possibly part of the reception but i have decided on flats for the ceremony because i am pretty much the clumsiest person alive. this left me scratching my head trying to figure out what to do... i love these vera shoes but, as sad as it makes me, they don't quite go with my perfect dress.
a couple of vera wang contenders... neither of which i chose and apologies for the rugged polish!)
after racking my brain for weeks and weeks, it finally hit me - i've been glittering everything else in my life for the wedding up to this point (with a brief break to glitter all of the tags i made for our holiday gifts)... why couldn't i glitter my wedding shoes?! so of course i did. the thing you have to udnerstand about me is that once i get an idea in my head and visualize it i will pretty much not stop until it's a screaming success... or an epic failure. another thing you have to understand about me is that failure really doesn't scare me. especially when it comes to glittering things. there really aren't a whole lot of ways to screw up glittering something when you've been glittering so many things for as long as i have.
so, without further ado (and thank you for reading through all of that or skipping ahead, i should put a TLDR at the end of this blah blah blah'ing i can't seem to quit) - here are my before and after shots. they need another coat (this is after two coats) and a final coat of mod podge to reduce the risk of glitter-shedding as much as possible, but you get the general idea.

after:
you guys, i can't lie. i am honestly pretty obsessed with these shoes. i really can't wait for them to be finished so i can try them with my dress!
TLDR: if you want something done right, do it yourself... and always do it with the most glitter. ever.
xoxo!
Daaaaaaaamn, girl. Those are amazing. You could have a future ahead of you in burlesque costuming...

They were cute before as well, but the glitter makes them look very glamerous. Let us know how the glitter holds up!
