lately i have been craving some seriously pretty decor to spice up our home. i am so used to having a home filled with years of collected diy projects, but when i moved up here from boston a year ago i got rid of so much that i ended up losing a fair amount of my crafts along the way. the good news? this just means i have an excuse to craft my cakes off to make up for what's been lost! now that's a compromise i can deal with.
today i have been working on the layout for the blog which i consider pretty crafty (even though all of the designing takes place on the computer). but when i spend a lot of time on the computer, be it for work or play, i start to get the itch for physical activity. being that it's rainy out and my bike is in need of a tune-up, i decided on making a heart garland to hang above the head of our bed.
i've been eyeing this tutorial by tricia at oh so crafty for a few days and today was finally the day to bite the bullet and cut&sew. the only problem is that dream and i don't exactly have a plethora of old pretty magazines lying around the apartment as we just got done doing a major spring cleaning. instead, i opted for some brown paper bags. i think the result is fantastic...
